Sam is a specialist corporate lawyer with experience advising on public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and complex corporate governance matters.  Sam strives to provide pragmatic legal advice tailored to each client’s commercial objectives.

Sam joined Harmos Horton Lusk in 2024 after twice summer clerking at the firm.  Before joining the firm, Sam spent three years as an intern in the in-house legal team of a NZX-listed corporate.

RECENT TRANSACTION EXPERIENCE

  • Advised NZX-listed Pacific Edge on its oversubscribed $36.1 million equity capital raise by way of placement and retail offer
  • Advised the founders of ICL Education Group, a leading provider of international education, on Waterman Capital’s majority investment in the group
  • Advised Australian private equity firm Mercury Capital on its acquisition of a 25% shareholding in Forsyth Barr Group Limited, New Zealand’s largest wealth management business, and on related shareholder arrangements
  • Advised NZX-listed Channel Infrastructure on its $50 million underwritten accelerated renounceable entitlement offer
